The Board of Directors is responsible for every aspect of the Credit Union. They are committed to improving the financial lives of its members while ensuring the safety and soundness of the organization.  Directors are elected by their peer member-owners to be their representatives. They establish organizational goals and monitor the general direction and control of the Credit Union in accordance with the Federal Credit Union Act, the By-Laws, sound business practices, laws, and regulations. The Board hires a President/CEO to implement their policies and to be responsible for the day-to-day operations.  It is anticipated that Board members will spend approximately 100 – 400 hours a year in support of their position.

CU Education/Achievements: Certified CU Director, Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and Credit Union Executive Society (CUES). Successfully completed all Credit Union National Association Volunteer Achievement and Leadership Program educational modules and has met Board standards for Continuous Professional Education.

CU Education/Achievements: Inducted in to the Defense Credit Union Council Hall of Honor (2016). Received Steve Brody Outstanding Volunteer Award for State of KY (2011). During time on the Board, served several terms as Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary. Certified Credit Union Director, Attended Directors Leadership Institute at London School of Business. Successfully completed all Credit Union National Association Volunteer Achievement and Leadership Program educational modules and has met Board standards for continuous Professional Education.

Met all Board standards for continuous professional education, to include the Kentucky League’s Financial Literacy Training for Directors. Member of the Credit Union Executive Society. The Board of Directors established the Associate Board Member Program to encourage education and preparation of promising candidates for future Board positions. ABMs are appointed by the Board, but have no vote in board actions. It is anticipated that ABMs will spend approximately 100 – 400 hours a year in support of their position.

The Supervisory Committee is appointed by the board and acts as the financial watchdog of the Credit Union ensuring that members’ assets are safeguarded. The Committee acts independently of the control of other Credit Union officials and must not interfere in any of the daily operations or transactions of the Credit Union. The Committee members maintain an impartial and independent position. It acts within the purview assigned to it by the Board and the Federal Credit Union Act (FCUA). Supervisory Committee volunteers will spend approximately 100 – 200 hours a year in support of their position.

Board of Director Volunteer
Members who are elected to the Board of Directors serve as unpaid volunteers and must be available for monthly Board meetings as well as at least one monthly committee meeting. Most meetings are held at the Main Branch Office in Radcliff, Kentucky. Board members are expected to complete a Volunteer Achievement and Leadership Program composed of 51 educational modules and attend educational conferences each year. Travel expenses to meetings and conferences are reimbursed by the Credit Union.

Nominating Procedures for Board of Directors
Applications for Board of Directors positions are accepted by the Nominating Committee beginning in July each year. There are three (3) Board of Directors positions to be filled annually. Any member in good standing and 18 or older is eligible to serve as a Director. Request an application here. Complete application packet should be submitted to the Credit Union by August 15th and mailed to:

The Nominating Committee will review the applications and select candidates. Selected candidates will appear in the October edition of “The Cornerstone,” our quarterly newsletter, and will be on the voting ballot to be mailed in January, if an election is required.

Supervisory Committee/Associate Board Member Volunteer
Members who are appointed to these positions also serve as unpaid volunteers and must be available for monthly/quarterly meeting (as designated by appointment). Volunteers are expected to complete Volunteer Achievement and Leadership Program educational modules commensurate with the type of appointment. Request an application here.
