Meet Your Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is responsible for every aspect of the Credit Union. They are committed to improving the financial lives of its members while ensuring the safety and soundness of the organization.  Directors are elected by their peer member-owners to be their representatives. They establish organizational goals and monitor the general direction and control of the Credit Union in accordance with the Federal Credit Union Act, the By-Laws, sound business practices, laws, and regulations. The Board hires a President/CEO to implement their policies and to be responsible for the day-to-day operations.  It is anticipated that Board members will spend approximately 100 – 400 hours a year in support of their position.

Education: BS in Business Administration/Accounting, University of Louisville. Certified Fraud Examiner.

CU Education/Achievements: Successfully completed all Credit Union National Association Volunteer Achievement and Leadership Program educational modules and has met Board standards for Continuous Professional Education.

   

Richard "Dick" Ardisson

Occupation: Retired Army Lieutenant Colonel (23.5 years service); Retired Defense contractor/Site Manager (18 years).

Education: Civilian - BBA in Accounting/Economics, Marshall University. MPS in Public Administration, WKU.
Military – Certified Army Material Acquisition Manager. Army Command and General Staff College. Army Military Comptroller Course.

CU Education/Achievements: Certified CU Director, Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and Credit Union Executive Society (CUES). Successfully completed all Credit Union National Association Volunteer Achievement and Leadership Program educational modules and has met Board standards for Continuous Professional Education.

   

J. Marvin Hawk

Occupation: Retired from civil service as Director of Resource Management for Fort Knox with total of 33 years service

Education: BS in Commerce (Accounting), University of Kentucky

CU Education/Achievements: Selected as outstanding CU Director in the state of Kentucky in 2011. During time on the Board, served several terms as Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary. Certified Credit Union Director, Attended Directors Leadership Institute at London School of Business. Successfully completed all Credit Union National Association Volunteer Achievement and Leadership Program educational modules and has met Board standards for continuous Professional Education..

   

Henry Wheatley

Occupation: Self-employed Wheatley & Associates Tax Service, 1971 – Present; Retired Department of the Army Auditor (29 Years) with 17 years as the Internal Review Officer

Education: Civilian - BS in Business Administration/Accounting, Campbellsville University.

Military- Completed over 1300 hrs of continuing education from Department of Defense, Department of Agriculture, Office of Personnel Management, US Army Audit Agency, and US General Services Administration

CU Education/Achievements: Certified Credit Union Director, Kellogg Graduate School, Northwestern University and Credit Union Executive Society (CUES).
Served as Chairman of Bd FKFCU 1990 -1993 and 1999 - 2002
Selected as CUES Director of the Year (2004), Inducted into CUES Director Hall of Fame (2009)
Received Steve Brody Outstanding Volunteer Award for State of KY (2000)
Elected as the first Volunteer Director to the KY CU League Bd of Directors in 1999
Served as Treasurer KY Credit Union League Bd of Directors 2000-2004 and 2009 to present

Richard Brandenburg

Education: Formal –Three years college, Business Administration (Bowling Green College of Commerce/University of Kentucky.

Practical – Thirty year owner/manager of residential/commercial real estate and retail service business.  Two term Mayor of Vine Grove, KY.

CU Education/Achievements: Former Chairman of the Board of Directors; Successfully completed all Credit Union National Association Volunteer Achievement and Leadership Program Educational modules and has met Board standards for continuous professional education.

   

Rosemary Deaton

CU Education/Achievements: Past Chairman, Board of Directors, Secretary of the Board, 12 years; Served on all FKFCU committees;  Received the 2012 Steve Brody Outstanding Volunteer Award;  Successfully completed all Volunteer Achievement Programs and Volunteer Leadership Programs, offered by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA);  Graduate of the Credit Union Executives Society Directors’ Leadership Institute at the London Business School and attained the “Certified Credit Union Director” designation.  Met all Board standards for continuous professional education, to include the Kentucky League’s Financial Literacy Training for Directors.  Member of the Credit Union Executive Society.  Member of Kentucky Credit Union Political Action Committee Capital Club.

Associate Board Member (ABM) Volunteers

The Board of Directors established the Associate Board Member Program to encourage education and preparation of promising candidates for future Board positions. ABMs are appointed by the Board, but have no vote in board actions. It is anticipated that ABMs will spend approximately 100 – 400 hours a year in support of their position.

Robert Bennett
